Based on the writings of Rav Chaim Cohen, the Chalban, Tallelei Chaim, Sefer Bereishis, P. 567. Hishtadlus (trying), is the midah (trait) of the mind, centered on the world of man, listening to what Hashem told us to do; bitachon ([complete] trust [in Hashem]) focuses on the world of Hashem and is the trait of the heart. In Hashem's thinking, there is no contradiction between the two, and they must co-exist and need each other, the same way the neshamah (soul) needs the guf (body), and the body needs the soul. Hashem created the world to be a place of partnership between Him and humanity. The relationship between the sefiros (divine emenations) and the choice-nullification continuum. Male and female in nature - the divine presense (Sh'chinah) / nature / female aspect conceals Hashem / miracle / male aspect. How the creation of the world is different from any other miracles that ever have or ever will occur in this world. We must give Hashem "something" to work with. 100% abstention as practiced in some parts of the gentile world is not kedushah (holiness) and is contrary to how Hashem created the world.
